Make your morning journaling practice more beneficial with EFT Tapping

If you already practice morning journaling so you can start your day with:

  • A clear mind
  • Insight into how you feel 
  • Your creative juices in full flow
  • Focus and intention

And you want to learn how to make your journaling practice even more beneficial for your mental and emotional well-being, my number one suggestion is to add EFT Tapping at the end. 

How to make your morning journaling practice more beneficial with EFT Tapping:

  1. First, wake up and grab your pen and journal.

  2. Next, let your thoughts, feelings, memories, plans and ideas flow onto the page or pages.

  3. Then, either with a pen or in your mind, highlight or note any unpleasant thoughts or feelings that came up for you.

    These could be feelings like:
    Anxiety, anger, confusion, stress, uncertainty, sadness, grief, guilt, self-doubt, fears, inadequacy etc. 

  4. Finally, tap and talk about them. I like to do this for 3-5 minutes each morning while my kettle is boiling. 

    The most straightforward way to do this style of EFT Tapping is by starting with the 'Even though' statement and ending with the self-acceptance statement, which sounds something like this:



    My super simple Tap & Talk Method of EFT Tapping:

    Top of the head: Even though I feel... [Say how you feel]
    Inner eyebrow: [Say how you feel]
    Side of the eye: And I think... [Say how you think]
    Under the eye: [Say how you think]
    Under the nose: And I feel... [Say how you feel]
    Under the lip: [Say how you feel]
    Below the start of the collarbone: And I think... [Say how you think]
    Under the armpit: [Say how you think]
    Wrists together: I deeply and completely love/accept/forgive myself for having these thoughts and feelings.

  5. Keep tapping until you have nothing left to say.

Don't worry about getting it exactly like the sequence above or about saying the right or wrong thing.

Just tap and talk about how you think and feel each morning without judgement.

Doing this for 5-10 minutes will help you process any unpleasant thoughts and feelings from your mind and body, so you can: 

  • Feel calmer
  • Think more clearly
  • Make better decisions
  • Diminish circling and spiralling thought patterns
