Where & Where Not to Tap: A Common Mistake to Avoid When EFT Tapping By Yourself

Whether you're new to EFT tapping or not, you might be wondering where precisely to tap, as when you're watching demonstrations online, the practitioner's hand might be blocking the tapping point from the camera.

While being precise with tapping isn't absolutely critical. Knowing the right points to tap will help you tap more confidently and make your tapping session more effective in a shorter time.

In this blog post and video below, I'll take you through the tapping points and where not to tap, so you can tap more confidently and easily and experience the benefits faster. 

Where to and where not to tap ↓

There are nine tapping points on the face and body, and you can tap on either side of the body. Here are the tapping points:

Set up point: Karate chop: On the fleshy side of the hand, where you would do a karate chop.

  1. Crown of the head. Not the side or front of the head. 
  2. The inside of the eyebrow. Not the eyebrows or forehead.
  3. The side of the eye, and not the temples. 
  4. Under the eye, and not the cheek. 
  5. Under the nose.
  6. In the chin crease below the lower lip.
  7. One inch below the collarbone. Not the chest. 
  8. Under the armpit parallel to the breast. 
  9. Inner wrists together.

 

Each point is linked to a specific acupressure point in Chinese medicine, and the combined recommended sequence has been rigorously tested in hundreds of clinical trials for its effectiveness. 

Remember: Emotional Freedom Techniques is a powerful tool for processing various challenges, including anxiety, stress, bad habits, fears and phobias, subconscious blocks, destructive thoughts, unpleasant memories, overwhelming emotions, mental and emotional tension, food cravings and addictions, and psychosomatic illness or pain.
