How to do EFT Tapping in under 1-minute

First,
acknowledge your challenging thoughts or feelings and name them. 

Next, identify where you feel the challenge in your body and rate its intensity out of 10. Write it down the number on some paper if you can.

Then, tap on the karate chop point of your hand while saying a short set-up statement that sounds something like, “Even though I feel (say the challenging thoughts and feelings aloud), I deeply and completely love/accept/forgive myself for feeling this way.”

Making this set-up statement helps your mind and body be more receptive to releasing trapped mental, emotional or physical tension before the tapping rounds begin. 

Now, tap and talk about how you're thinking and feeling on the following acupressure points:

  1. Crown of the head
  2. Start of the eyebrow
  3. The side of the eye
  4. Under the eye
  5. Under the nose
  6. Under the low lip
  7. 1 inch under the collarbone
  8. Under the arm parallel to the breast
  9. Both wrists together
    (This is classed as one round of EFT Tapping)

Tap on each acupressure point 6-8 times, but there's no need to count while repeating what you said in your set-up statement and anything else that comes to mind, including old memories and any new emerging thoughts or feelings. 

Finally, check in on the intensity of how you feel about the original challenge. How much has the number come down? Continue tapping on the acupressure points in rounds until it’s a 0 or 1, and drink some water.

When you’ve finished tapping, take some deep breaths, rest a little if needed, and drink plenty of water.
